Qatar is an Arab member of the Gulf Cooperation Council. Its inhabitants speak Arabic in a local Gulf dialect similar to the dialects of other Gulf states, but MSA (Modern Standard Arabic) is used in the media, education and official and governmental transactions.
Qatar has two dialects, the urban dialect of the coastal population and the tone of their dialect resembles the Bahraini and the dialect of the Bedouin which resembles the dialect of the Bedouin of Saudi Arabia.
